June 15, 2010 The Washington State Legislature has adopted new rules regarding continuing education for Court Reporters. Senate Bill 6450 will become effective July 1st of 2011. The bill adds the requirement of five continuing education units completed in the past year at the time of license renewal or reinstatement. A unit of education is recognized as not less than thirty minute increments of time. The bill further identifies eligible activities for continuing education units and adds a requirement for the individual to maintain documentation for at least three years. Likkel & Associates welcomes this legislation as it affirms the State Legislature’s recognition of the Court Reporting profession and will help Court Reporters keep up with the technological advances that are occurring in our profession. July 1, 2009 Likkel & Associates announces that Rostad Reporting Services has joined forces and merged with Likkel & Associates. Amy Rostad and her staff of Certified Court Reporters become part of the Likkel team effective July 1st. Lisa Rolston, managing owner and President of Likkel and Associates, will see that the clients of Rostad Reporting Services receive the utmost in customer care for all of their reporting needs. Likkel & Associates Court Reporting and Legal Video has been providing its services to the legal community throughout Western Washington since 1973. May 28, 2009 Likkel & Associates is expanding again - this time with private deposition suites in a great Downtown Seattle location in the 1700 Building, 1700 Seventh Avenue, Suite 2100, across the street from the United States Courthouse. There are three deposition/video suites available for our clients' scheduling needs. On-site parking is provided, along with Starbucks, restaurants and hotels steps away. Our clients let us know we needed a Seattle office, and we are pleased to now be able to provide that service. August 3, 2008 Likkel & Associates provides online deposition scheduling to help our clients with the scheduling process. We have added a "Schedule Depositions" tab to the Likkel Court Reporters website. This is an easy-to-use feature - just fill out the form with your scheduling needs. You can even attach the Notice of Deposition to the form, saving even more time. Click on the "Send E-mail" tab at the bottom, and that's it. You will receive confirmation of your request and, as always, get a prior-day confirmation as well. May 20, 2008 Likkel & Associates is proud to announce the opening of a new office with conference rooms in Mount Vernon, Washington. To better serve our clients' scheduling needs, we have attained space in the Kincaid Building at 720 Main Street, Suite 213, in the Downtown sector, a great location, steps to the Skagit County Courthouse and restaurants, with free parking along the Skagit River Walkway, easy freeway access off of I-5 at the Kincaid exit.
